I don’t adhere to a specific label in terms of how I eat. My general rule of thumb is to eat whole ‘clean’ foods that make me feel good. I’ve ditched all processed food, sugar and vegetable oils, and have found my body responds best when I also avoid foods containing gluten, dairy and grains. See below for my favourite clean foodie links.
My New Roots – a beautiful blog by holistic nutritionist Sarah Britton. She does simply amazing things with vegetables! This is where I learned to make nut milk and nut butter, among many other delicious dishes.
Sarah Wilson – lots of clever food tricks here, but her ‘I Quit Sugar’ posts and recipes really helped me to annihilate my sweet tooth. In fact…
I Quit Sugar Store – This is my affiliate link where you can buy Sarah’s cookbooks and sugar-quitting programs! I make a small commission, but it doesn’t cost you extra :)
Nom Nom Paleo – a really cute blog dedicated to Paleo recipes
iHerb – don’t be put off by the dubious-sounding name. This is where I buy my health food supplies – it’s much cheaper than in Australia, and shipping is great value. (Use the code HTH016 to get $10 off your first order…nice)
Crossfit-U West Melbourne – the box where I train. We have a real community feel going on, which is particularly important during WODs when you’re getting your arse kicked! Even if you’re not in Melbourne, check out the website for useful blog posts on training and WODs.
Crossfit Journal – a great resource for everything Crossfit
No Meat Athlete – the running blog by Matt Frazier that helped me decide to run my first marathon. Really useful information for meat eaters too. And great vegetarian/vegan recipes for all running or endurance sport enthusiasts!
