An End of Year Reflection – And Why You Should Do It Too [Episode 142]

Christina Canters - Stand Out Get Noticed podcast - An End of Year Reflection - And Why You Should Do It Too [Episode 142]

Earlier this year, I was part of an accountability mastermind group, and one of the facilitators would make us write a reflection at the end of each month.

I’ll be frank with you: I’m not naturally a ‘reflection’ type of person. I tend to be a ‘go-go-go, look forward to the next thing’ kinda person.

So I’d always begrudgingly go into the reflection task. We had to revisit our goals for the month, see if we achieved them, write our wins, and our thoughts around the month that just passed.

But after forcing myself to do this task, I actually found it to be really helpful. I was always surprised at how many wins I’d had, and milestones reached. And if I hadn’t stopped to reflect, I wouldn’t have appreciated all those things I’d achieved.

I’ve learned that if you don’t take time to savour what you’ve achieved, you risk not having that feeling of success, or happiness, or pride, or whatever your end goal is. So I’ve tried to build the habit of reflection into my life.

In this episode, I share 5 powerful questions you can ask yourself to help you reflect on your year.So get out your notebook, start a new Google doc, Evernote file, whatever, and get listening, reflecting, and writing!
