Career Transitions & Transferring Your Skills with BJ Jackson [Episode 76]

Want to make a career switch, change job roles or go from employee to entrepreneur?

NYC-based business and career coach Belinda ‘BJ’ Jackson is here to help!

BJ is the founder of Prosell International, a company that specialises in helping foreign companies enter the US market. She also helps skilled professionals make successful career transitions through her other company Working In The USA.

When I met BJ in NYC earlier this year, I knew I had to get her on the show.

Having gone through my own major career transition, I know how scary it can be, and how it may seem like a ‘waste’ of your skills (yep, I’ve had a bunch of people say “You spent all those years studying and working in architecture, and now you’ve thrown it all away??”). But I found I was able to transfer many of those skills from architecture to training, speaking and entrepreneurship.

In this conversation, BJ and I talk about how to transfer your skills from one career to another, how much time it takes to make a transition, how to convince recruiters you’re the right person for the job, how to build confidence in a new role, plus much more.
