Offline Communities, Wolfpacks & Snapchat with George Siosi Samuels [Episode 48]

Christina Canters - Stand Out Get Noticed Podcast - Offline Communities, Wolfpacks & Snapchat with George Siosi Samuels [Episode 48]

I’m excited to welcome back offline community specialist, host of the It Will Come show and leader of my ‘wolf pack’, George Siosi Samuels to the show.

You may remember George from Episode 6, where we talked about storytelling and flow. He’s one of my favourite people, plus he’s been doing some super interesting things recently, so I wanted to get him back on the show for another chat.

What community managers are doing offline…is what HR managers need in order to increase employee engagement.

Since we last met him, George launched the It Will Come Show, a video show and podcast that helps people find their way through life through strong communities. Building offline communities is George’s speciality, and in this episode we talk about how important this ‘offline’ communication is becoming in our increasingly screen-soaked world.

We also talk about the importance of being part of a supportive ‘wolf pack’ – that is, a group of people who hold you accountable. I’m in an accountability (or ‘mastermind’) group with George. Listen in to hear how often we check in with each other, support each other and basically make sure we’re getting stuff done.

“It’s really shitty being on your own and trying to work everything out on your own…for a large majority of us, we’re far more productive when we’re in a group.”

Finally, if you’re confused or want to learn more about instant-self-destructing-photo/video sharing platform Snapchat, George shares why he thinks Snapchat is awesome, and how he’s using it to build his own community and platform.

Already on Snapchat? Add George: @siosism (and while you’re at it, add me too: @thecmethod). Happy snapping!
